Started with some glitches but ended good
Kelly_R, 04-03-2020
Our excursion started off on a not so good first impression. Our driver picked the four of us up in an old beat up mid size car. (This is not the way to impress your guest. It was actually kind of scary) We barely fit in it. After we squeezed in the car he asked us what we would like to do for the day. I was kind of confused because we booked a specific tour to go into the mountains and to a village, etc. I told him I wanted to do what the tour description told us we would be doing. He seemed a bit surprised but said he would do that. However small car we were in was not going to work for a whole day in the mountains. after telling him that this would not work He made a call And got us a minivan which was much more comfortable. He Then had to stop at the ATM machine to get money and had to stop at a gas station to fill up the minivan. All in all we lost about 45 minutes to an hour of our tour. At this point I didn’t have a lot of hope for the day. But things started to fall into place and we were on our way up into the mountains. Our guide was very nice stopping to show us the sleeping giant and stopping multiple times for us to take pictures. When we arrived at the village They were not expecting us and we waited in the car for 20 to 30 minutes while our guide talked to the appropriate people in the village to accommodate our visit. He explained to us that this was due to poor cell service and not being able to reach them to let them know we were coming. But he did pull it off and we were welcomed into the village where we had a cava ceremony and a tour of the village and were able to go back and see a beautiful waterfall. When we came back from seeing the waterfall we were treated to a lunch made by the women in the village. They were so nice and accommodating and really tried to make sure we had a special visit. So after a rough start the day ended on a very special note. Our guide explain to us on the ride home that they Just started offering this tour and we were the first people to take it. Personally I think it was a little expensive for us to be their “trial run” to iron out their kinks on. ( I would hope for a discount for being the guinea pig group) But over all the tour was good. And I would recommend it to anyone who is considering doing it. I do think the more they do this tour it will be something really special.
