Wonderful Authentic Figi

Our trek was absolutley wonderful! We are avid hikers and have never used a guide before, but this trip was made very special by our terrific guide Peni. Peni is a true Fijian, very informative and super friendly. He arranges as part of his tour, to visit a mountain village for a special lunch in a family home. The food was absolutely delicious and it was a highlight of our trip to meet the local family and be invited into their home. The hike was fairly easy to the falls. We did get rained on a bit, but dried off very quickly. We hope to do the longer trek on our next visit to Fiji and will definitely connect with Peni upon our return. Again, we have never paid for a guide before and were a bit hesitant. However, Peni really made the hike a Fiji "experience" instead of just another hike to a waterfall. We 100% recommend Peni and his excellent tour!
Great day with Peni! Must try if you love adventures!

This is the only tour we booked in Fiji and we are enjoying every minute of this! Trip starts with a private ride to the village in the mountain and the hike to the top is tense! It's not long - and definitely not a crowded one as we only see one other hiker along the way. But with the humidity you would get much sweat 1 mile in - so glad our guide Peni bringing enough for water for us to drink along the hike. If you hike by yourself you definitely are going to be lost (no signs on the trail - only paths) - so a guide like Peni is definitely necessary and very helpful.

View from the mountain top is awesome (randomly there is cloud in/out and block your view - but the celebration is real!) and the hike down in my opinion is a bit more challenging and sometimes slippery - so take care. Round trip is about 4 hours (as fast as we can).

The highlight of the tour really comes after the hike - we enjoyed a BEAUTIFUL lunch in the local village with cava ceremony. It goes as local as you ever want!! Then we ride back to Lautoka with the locals - it's just fun!

The day ends quickly and definitely a day we would remember for our trip in Fiji.

I highly recommend this tour - only downside for the day is Peni is a bit late to start without some advance notice, but it's definitely a fun day afterwards.
Mt. Koroyanitu Hike

We landed in Fiji at 5:30AM and this was our first excursion after landing. Peni picked us up and drove us up to the ABC village at the entrance to the hike. We saw incredible views of the town driving through it and while above it driving up the mountain! Peni knows the area well and is a great historian on introducing you to the Fijian culture (especially on your first day there). We only were up for the waterfall hike since we were exhausted from traveling but it was well worth it. The views hiking up to the waterfall are absolutely breathtaking and the waterfall itself is something you have to see in person to understand its beauty. Peni had a village family make us a traditional Fijian lunch after coming back (all was amaizng food) and give us a tour of their home. All the villages were so welcoming and Peni had so much knowledge about everything, we learned more on our first day with him than we did the whole trip! Peni also is flexible and gave us the option of taking us to the mud pools or Garden of the sleeping giants after lucnh since we did not do both tours.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone traveling to Fiji. It's a great private tour where you have the flexibility to do as much or as little as you want while spending your time with Peni!

The best thing I did in Fiji. Peni is a great guide, knowledgeable and friendly. He arranged an authentic village experience for us, and explained many things about life in Fiji.

We had an amazing day. Our first day in Fiji! The hike was great and the waterfall was fantastic. Great to swim in and cooled us off.
The lunch at the village was authentic. We loved the Spinach dish and sitting on the floor with the local family was really nice.
Peni is a great tour guide and will look after you and show you the real Fiji you do not get with the tour companies out of the big hotels.
